NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nissan Group announced total U.S. first quarter (January through March) sales for 2026 of 247,068 units, a decrease of 7.5% versus the prior year, while retail sales increased 9.6%, supported by a disciplined strategy, increasing sales of U.S.-built vehicles.
The first quarter's performance was supported by continued momentum throughout the period, including a strong finish in March. The company marked six consecutive months of retail growth, and is the fastest‑growing mainstream brand in the U.S.
Even as the broader industry declined, Nissan gained market share, underscoring the power of its product lineup and retailer network. That momentum extended to INFINITI as well, which outpaced the luxury segment by growing share in a down market and was recognized as the most improved brand in the J.D. Power Customer Service Index Study.
Nissan Division highlights:
Nissan’s truck and SUV lineup delivered strong first quarter momentum, driven by strong consumer demand across Frontier, Pathfinder, Armada, Kicks and Rogue.
- Sales of the Nissan Frontier were up 47.9% year-over-year for the quarter.
- Sales of the Nissan Pathfinder were up 45.2% year-over-year for the quarter.
- Sales of the Nissan Armada were up 17.5% year-over-year for the quarter.
- Sales of the Nissan Kicks were up 16.4% year-over-year for the quarter
- Sales of the Nissan Rogue were up 13% year-over-year for the quarter.
INFINITI highlights:
- Sales of the QX60 were up 64% year-over-year for the quarter, serving as the brand’s volume leader.
- INFINITI revealed the all-new 2027 QX65, reaching retailers in early summer 2026 and expected to increase sales volume.
“March retail sales increased 7%, while our first‑quarter performance continues to show the strength of our brands and our growing momentum. Even in a challenging market, customers are responding to our lineup, especially our trucks and SUVs, and our retail partners continue to deliver exceptional results, said Tiago Castro, senior vice president, U.S. Marketing & Sales, Nissan and INFINITI. “We also saw INFINITI outpace the luxury segment and earn recognition for its customer experience, reinforcing the power of our product strategy and the dedication of our teams. With this foundation, we’re entering the next quarter with confidence and strong demand across both Nissan and INFINITI.”
NOTE: To ensure consistency in global sales reporting, Nissan North America calculates quarterly variances on a straight-percentage basis, unadjusted for the number of selling days. First quarter 2026 had 75 selling days and first quarter 2025 had 75 selling days.
