NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The 2022 INFINITI Q50 sedan adds newfound smarts this year to its strong exterior style and tailored interior. In addition to the newly standard Bose® Performance Series Audio, every INFINITI Q50 now includes wireless Apple CarPlay® compatibility for 2022. The 2022 INFINITI Q50 arrives in showrooms later this month and starts at $42,100 MSRP.
The 2022 INFINITI Q50 sedan continues its award-winning formula by combining a lean, athletic stance with a crafted, connected, and comfortable interior. The 2022 Q50 is available in three well-equipped grades: LUXE, SENSORY, and RED SPORT 400. Each grade is available with INFINITI's Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. The Q50 SENSORY grade, which was new for 2021, offers sumptuous Saddle Brown leather-appointed seatsi as optional equipment for 2022.
Every 2022 INFINITI Q50, including the LUXE grade, includes standard leather-appointed seats; power tilt and telescoping steering wheel; power-folding outside mirrors with reverse tilt-down; a dual-occupant memory system for the driver's seat that remembers steering wheel, seat, and outside mirror position, linked to individual Intelligent Keys; driver's seat power lumbar adjustment; and Bose® Performance Series audio.
Every 2022 INFINITI Q50 sedan is powered by a dynamic 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 that spins out 300 or up to 400 horsepower in Q50 RED SPORT 400 models. Paired to an advanced 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode and Downshift Rev Matching, the Q50's powerplant combines excellent drivability with efficiency and performance.
Performance and presentation
The 2022 INFINITI Q50's robust exterior begins with INFINITI's signature double-arch grille highlighted by chrome surrounds. A subtle, smooth character line rises from the grille and extends along the bodysides to create a fluid, dynamic profile everywhere the Q50 travels. "Human-eye" LED headlights on all grades are as captivating as they are illuminating, while slim combination LED taillights etch a distinctive signature at night.
The 2022 Q50 SENSORY and RED SPORT 400 grades include a lower, angular front bumper that is visually potent and adds to the sedan's appeal. Inspired by INFINITI's zero-lift concept of aerodynamic efficiency, those Q50 grades are equipped with functional airfoils at the base of the front bumper.
Unique to Q50 RED SPORT 400, dual exhaust tips with a brushed satin finish feature prominently at the rear and relay a sonorous exhaust note from its revised mid-pipe for a more powerful on-road presence.
The 2022 Q50 LUXE is equipped with attractive 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Q50 SENSORY and RED SPORT 400 grades pronounce the sedan's performance potential with 19-inch sport-design aluminum-alloy wheels; unique to RED SPORT 400 models equipped with rear-wheel drive are a staggered-width wheel configuration, back to front, to underscore its planted dynamic performance.
Tailored interior, connectivity abounds
Highlighted by this year's inclusion of wireless Apple CarPlay® compatibility, the 2022 INFINITI Q50 bristles with technology without sacrificing a craftsman's touch. This year, 2022 Q50 LUXE sedans receive leather-appointed seating surfaces for up to five inside, with available Graphite or Stone color treatments. New to Q50 SENSORY grades this year, rich Saddle Brown leather-appointed surfaces are available in addition to standard Graphite or Stone leather-appointed surfaces. The 2022 Q50 RED SPORT 400 receives semi-aniline leather-appointed seats, brilliantly finished in Gallery White with Red stitching or Graphite with Red stitching.
The Q50 interior features INFINITI's hallmark zero-gravity spinal support seats that were carefully engineered to provide a consistent level of support and minimize pressure on lower and upper back muscles. Both the front and rear seats help distribute body pressure across a broader range of the upper seating surface. The roomy interior space offers ample front and rear headroom, generous rear knee room enhanced by the thin front seatback design, and wide-range front seat slide and lift adjustability.
Dual, high-definition displays feature smartphone compatibility software and INFINITI InTouch Services. Sound travels through a Bose® Performance Series 16-speaker audio system with Bose Centerpoint simulated surround that delivers a rich, balanced, and nuanced sound throughout the cabin. USB-based Android Auto™ compatibility is supported by two standard USB ports in the front (one Type-A, one Type-C), and wireless Apple CarPlay® is newly standard on all grades.
VR-series pedigree, "Very Responsive" results
The 2022 Q50 tasks its longitudinally mounted 3.0-liter VR-series twin-turbo V6 engine for motivation, offered in one of two configurations. In Q50 LUXE and Q50 SENSORY sedans, the V6 delivers 300 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 295 lb-ft at 1,600-5,200 rpm. In Q50 RED SPORT 400 sedans, the V6 engine delivers on its namesake and produces 400 maximum horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 350 lb-ft at 1,600-5,200 rpm.
Exclusive to the RED SPORT 400's engine, an extra water pump to aid in cooling and an optical turbine speed sensor is added, the latter of which allows for the twin-turbochargers to perform at up to 240,000 rpm — higher than ever before for a V6 engine.
The V6 is teamed with a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode and Downshift Rev Matching. Standard steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters on Q50 RED SPORT 400 offer more control for dynamic performance — if the mood strikes.
Power travels down the driveline to standard rear-wheel drive or, optionally, INFINITI's Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive system. Both configurations are available in all three grades.
Arresting the Q50 RED SPORT 400's impressive performance requires equally impressive hardware. The Q50 RED SPORT 400's uprated brakes feature four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers, which are painted red. All Q50 grades ride on a four-wheel independent suspension, with all-season or summer run-flat tires, depending on drive configuration.
Three standout Q50 grades

The Q50 SENSORY ladders up with 19-inch wheels, black open-pore wood interior trim, integrated navigation, sport front and rear fascias, Advanced Climate Control System with Plasmacluster™ Air Purifier and Grape Polyphenol filter, and more for $47,800 MSRP.
At the top of the performance ladder, the 2022 Q50 RED SPORT 400 includes unique black exterior accents, aluminum pedals, uprated V6 engine performance, exclusive 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, semi-aniline leather-appointed surfaces, Dynamic Digital Suspension, which constantly adjusts the shock absorber valves within a wide range of damping force to control body motion when cornering, and more for $55,950 MSRP.
