INFINITI today reported U.S. sales of 7,129 vehicles for the month of April, an increase of 5.4 percent versus 6,761 units a year earlier. Calendar year-to-date sales for INFINITI are 33,349, down 3.6 percent from 34,597 units in 2011.

April marked the first full month of availability for the all-new INFINITI JX, with sales of 2,079 vehicles. To date, 2,619 INFINITI JX 7-passenger luxury crossovers have been sold, contributing to a 20 percent increase in INFINITI crossover and SUV sales for the year.

“Customers have reacted very favorably to the INFINITI JX, and our retailers have reported record traffic in their stores since it went on sale in March,” said Ben Poore, vice president, INFINITI Americas. “We expect that our new luxury crossover, which fits into the INFINITI line perfectly between the FX performance crossover and the QX full-size luxury SUV, will continue to be one of our strongest selling models.”

The INFINITI JX offers best-in-class interior volume and fuel economy, as the world’s first Back-Up Collision Intervention System. It also allows unprecedented access to the spacious third-row, even with a child-safety seat attached in the second-row.
