NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The all-new 2025 QX80 claims a spot in the Popular Science Best of What's New Awards in the automotive category. The QX80 earned its spot on the list because of its advanced suite of technologies and luxurious design. Among the standout innovations inside INFINITI's all-new flagship SUV is the segment-first Klipsch® Reference Premiere Audio System, offering a bespoke 24-speaker experience that envelops and immerses all passengers.
INFINITI and Klipsch engineers came together to seamlessly integrate QX80's interior and its in-vehicle technologies, brought to life with Individual Audio. Leveraging metal-trimmed speakers mounted to the front seat headrests, Individual Audio allows for focusing only certain audio elements – such as navigation directions, music or phone calls – to the driver's seat. For example, the driver can make a phone call while passengers continue listening to music, or the driver could listen to a favorite playlist and hear map guidance without disturbing those sleeping in the rear seats.
"As our flagship SUV, the all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80 embodies bold design, advanced technology and expert craftsmanship, showcasing the very best of INFINITI," said Craig Keeys, group vice president, INFINITI Americas. "We're honored to be recognized by Popular Science and proud to see QX80 featured among the top 50 innovations of 2024."
The all-new QX80 introduces multiple segment-first technologies, such as Ultra and Front Wide View cameras and Biometric Cooling, an advanced climate control system that uses infrared sensors to detect when a second-row passenger is hot and automatically adjusts temperature and airflow for cooling. These features are complemented by dual 14.3-inch displays, advanced driver-assist features, such as available ProPILOT Assist 2.1, and Invisible Hood View system – among other features.
Since 1988, the editors of Popular Science have annually reviewed thousands of products to identify top innovations—breakthroughs that signify major advancements in their fields. The Best of What's New Awards honor five standout products and technologies across ten categories: Aerospace, Automotive, Engineering, Entertainment, Gadgets, Health, Home, Personal Care, Sports & Outdoors, and Emergency Services. These awards celebrate cutting-edge achievements shaping the future.
