INFINITI today reported U.S. sales of 6,389 units for the month of May, a decrease of 21.0 percent versus 8,091 units a year earlier. Calendar year-to-date INFINITI sales have increased 5.1 percent to 40,986 vehicles for the first five months of 2011.

Highlights of INFINITI’s sales performance for May include:

  • The INFINITI QX had sales of 779 units, an increase of 11 percent over prior year, marking the full-size luxury SUV’s best May since 2006 and pushing its yearly total increase to almost 27 percent
  • With sales of 2,684 in May, the INFINITI G Sedan has a to-date increase of more than 12 percent versus prior year

“With the continued sales strength of the INFINITI QX and the support of several other models in the INFINITI line, we have continued to increase our sales in 2011,” said Ben Poore, vice president, INFINITI Americas. “Customers are finding the vehicles they want at our retailers, and with additions to our line, like the new INFINITI M Hybrid, our sales later this summer are expected to support our year-over-year increase.”
