Advanced, efficient powertrain
For the 2025 model year, QX60 employs an advanced Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) engine, which is also featured in QX50 and QX55. The world's first mass-produced variable-compression engine18, the turbocharged 2.0-liter seamlessly varies its compression ratio depending on the driving situation, accelerator input and other factors. With the ability to range from a compression ratio of 8:1 to 14:1, the engine offers drivers a rewarding blend of comfort, performance and efficiency.
The advanced engine boasts 268 horsepower and 286 lb-ft of torque, a 16 lb-ft increase across a wider engine speed range compared to the 2024 model. This enhancement ensures confident acceleration optimized for daily driving. The engine is coupled to a 9-speed automatic transmission with standard paddle shifters. The new powertrain improves fuel efficiency to 22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined for front-wheel drive models and 22 mpg city, 27 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined for AWD models1.
The VC-Turbo powertrain features a standard transmission oil cooler, allowing for an increase in QX60's standard towing rating to 6,000 pounds when properly equipped 19. QX60 can be configured with front-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive20 (except AUTOGRAPH, which is AWD only).
