NEW YORK – Presented by INFINITI, The (RED) Supper officially launched EAT (RED) DRINK (RED) SAVE LIVES, a campaign running for the month of June to raise money and awareness for the Global Fund to fight AIDS. INFINITI was the sponsor for this extraordinary alfresco dinner and drinks experience hosted by Mario Batali and produced by Outstanding in the Field.
EAT (RED) DRINK (RED) SAVE LIVES is an annual campaign that brings the culinary world to the table to #86AIDS. Every June, to honor the month during which AIDS was discovered, the organization asks restaurants, bars, food trucks and everything in between to create (RED)-inspired menu items and products. With every purchase of a (RED) dish, drink and dessert, a contribution is made to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.
Held at Pier 26, Hudson River Park in New York on May 31 with 1,000 guests, this VIP event saw 10 of America's best-known chefs team up in pairs to create (RED) inspired menus. Each chef duo created a unique four-course menu for 200 guests.
The participating chefs teams were:
- David Burke and Josh Capon
- April Bloomfield and Joey Campanaro
- Elizabeth Falkner and Mark Ladner
- Michael Symon and Jonathan Waxman
- Michael Schlow and John Besh
